Stormwave - The Hand Tank Drum are also great meditation and relaxation tools thanks to their pleasing, natural resonance and hypnotizing, captivating timbre.
The drum used to create this library is one of a kind, custom made by a Polish artisan using an old propane tank that gave it its distinctive, slightly discordant sound and odd tuning (D-E-F-A-C-E-F).
We have tirelessly played an instrument with different articulations and dynamics so that you can use the full range of instruments in your projects. Each note was carefully recorded with varying strengths using fingers and soft hammers.
The natural tone was recorded using two aspects:
- The detail and impact properties of the top of the instrument were obtained in stereo using a pair of Neumann KM184 condenser microphones.
- Bottom fullness and low vibrations were recorded using a Shure SM56 dynamic microphone.

– 2 microphone perspectives – top and bottom – with separate volume controls.
– Effects section including delay, chorus, reverb, and rotary speaker/vibrato simulation.
– Attack and Release envelope controls for further sound shaping possibilities.
